SPACED OUT: My thoughts after watching GRAVITY

You know that cold pit in your stomach that you end up having, no matter how hard headed you are, before stepping on to some amusement ride and all kinds of gross case scenarios start running through that beautiful head of yours, top most being the opening scene from Final destination III. Well congratulations because now we have a new and a more claustrophobic scenario to add up to that list. Zero-G. So our protagonists Lieutenant Matt Kowalski and Dr. Ryan Stone (yes, it’s a girl’s name) have been assigned to a space mission fixing things that I don’t know and don’t care about because in my knowledge, the astronaut lingo is way worse than solving a trigonometry question. Anyway, Dr. Stone is a serious lab researcher on a mission where she’s used to things falling on the floor instead of them floating around in space and out of her reach. Then we have our irresistible Kowalski whose “Houston, I have a bad feeling about this mission.” is like a calm before the storm or shou

The Art of Whimsy Activity-ism

Hobby kids are happy kids. Firmly believing in these five words, it could range from cooking, blogging, reading and music to outdoor & adventure sports like football, traveling, paragliding, photography, anything that brings out your playful self, someone who does something he/she loves. Some keep their hobby as a part of their personal life only; others like to turn them into their jobs and their lives. Having a hobby is as important as getting a polio vaccine, which is why every school timetable consists a P.T period allowing every kid to recuperate themselves. Same applies to us adults too.  Working hours these days have gone from crazy to crazier which means trying taking a break could be a challenging task, so some of us end up hitting the office gym or cafeteria. Having a unique leisure activity brings in positivity physically and emotionally. Picking up a new one helps in rediscovering ourselves time and again. A sense of challenge to push ourselves and

Language: An art or an obsession

It’s not about just the words anymore “You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure and maybe even a little danger”         - Damon Salvatore, the Vampire Diaries (Season 3 episode 22) I would be lying if I said that I am a 10/10 when it comes to the mother of all languages, English Language. But I would say that I surely have a strong command over it. Lord knows I have poured down innumerable grief upon grief on several people’s lack of correct use of grammar, pronunciation, enunciation and basically for the way they bug the living hell out of me when they complicate something as simple and elegant as MY and mangle and combine it to a Mah (I suppose its My+Ma+H=MAH! Seriously! Even modern dictionaries can’t fathom how our new generation has turned a two syllable word into a three headed monster of a word). Learning a language is like an art. Some might even call it rocket science. I am referring to the lack of French-ness in me. Not that the languag

LOVE DOES NOT CONQUER ALL - A review on The Great Gatsby

“His unkindness may defeat my life, but never taint my love”                                                                                                                                                                                              -Othello (Act IV Scene II) The dust settles, making things a little more clear.  Love is blindness. Imagine where all your life you truly believed something to be your always, your strength, your faith and your hope. And then in comes a storm so strong, so scary, and so enthralling and rattles your very soul to such depths, it makes you want to inquisite every single feeling you have ever perceived. It obsesses you, possesses you and makes you want to question the best thing you thought you had in this entire world and you only cross examine because that is when that forever, or so u thought, starts to look like an inevitable hollow destiny. And the very prospect of it all can scare and waver and surprise even the most fo

“A chill running through your veins ” is how the age old term “NIGHTMARE” is defined as .For some, it’s like approaching their death sentence, for some, its outright ridiculous & for some it’s like the twisted thrill they’ve been longing for. Somehow ghosts and supernatural creatures have started to garner a friendlier and empathizing approach for the past few years thus forming the latest cult of mutual obsession between a mortal and an immortal. And then we have our worst fantasies coming back to life .Scary Possessed Barbie Dolls. A recent incident seems to have only increased my detestment towards these “too gorgeous to be soothing“looking toys. Being a fan of the horror genre, the descendants of Count Dracula  and Dr. Frankenstein  have always fascinated my mind .No matter how much  flesh, blood and gore they invest themselves upon, there is something very tragic, romantic and gentlemanly  about the way they hunt down their prey. But possessed toys? There is
